Abu Rabah and surroundings
Development of the Abu Rabah site on the Yarkon River for the Yarkon River Authority: two car parks, an access road and a riverside path with a polymer-stabilised surface. Approx. 15,000 m² of stripping, approx. 3,700 m³ of sub-base and approx. 740 boulders to block vehicle access.

The challenge
The project had three parts: a southern car park, a northern car park with an access road, and a riverside path. We cut the path corridor approx. 3 m wide and surfaced it with a polymer stabiliser (PolySoil). Along the path we lifted and replanted clumps of riverside vegetation, and trimmed the hedgerow on both sides. Supervision: Ledan Infrastructure and Construction. In total we stripped approx. 15,000 m², excavated approx. 2,250 m³ and spread approx. 3,700 m³ of type-A sub-base.
What we did
- Southern car park: stripping to a depth of 20 cm — 8,617 m²; excavation and removal of surplus — 670 m³; type-A sub-base — 1,340 m³
- Northern car park and access road: stripping — 6,573 m²; excavation and removal of surplus — 779 m³; type-A sub-base — 1,558 m³
- Riverside path: corridor clearing approx. 3 m wide — 3,959 m²; excavation and removal of surplus — 799 m³; type-A sub-base — 799 m³
- Polymer-stabilised path surface (PolySoil) — 2,477 m²
- 742 boulders to block vehicle access
- 80 trees planted; 490 clumps of riverside plants lifted and replanted
- Hedgerow trimming along the path — 1,362 m
- Park furniture, drainage, irrigation and maintenance
What sets it apart
Working beside a river also means working with its vegetation: 490 clumps of riverside plants were lifted and replanted as part of the works, and 80 trees were planted alongside them. The final account was signed and approved in March 2023.
