Earthworks, excavation and rock cutting

Excavation in soil, cutting in rock, engineered fill and site preparation, through to a formation ready for building or paving. At Mekorot's Ein Kerem station we excavated and cut 84,571 m³.

What we do

On most of our Jerusalem projects the dig goes through both soil and rock. We handle both, down to the level on the drawings.

At Mekorot's Ein Kerem station, a station and reservoir on Jerusalem's fifth water supply system, we excavated and cut 84,571 m³ between 2017 and 2019. At the Pierre Koenig underground car park we carried out excavation, rock cutting and fill works for Shikun & Binui – Solel Boneh. At Migdal Tzedek National Park we rehabilitated a quarry for the Quarry Rehabilitation Fund: earthworks, walking trails and viewpoints.

At Hadassah Ein Kerem we cut rock for the foundations of the inpatient tower (2008). At Rafa Laboratories in Har Hotzvim (2010) we prepared the ground for the building's foundations, and supplied and spread selected fill on site.

Surplus soil does not have to leave the site. Where possible, we crush it, screen it and put it back into the project as fill or sub-base. And at Sanhedria HaMurchevet, a receiving site approved by the Jerusalem Municipality, we placed more than 300,000 m³ of fill from imported and recycled local material, including surplus excavation from the Eden compound and Heichal Shlomo.
