The challenge
An underground car park starts with a pit: excavation and rock cutting in soil and rock, down to the lowest slab level — at Pierre Koenig, about 20 m deep. We excavated and cut 70,400 m³ for the car park, against 75,000 m³ in the contract. There were existing walls and asphalt surfaces on the site, and we removed them under the same contract. We worked as a subcontractor to Shikun & Binui – Solel Boneh, whose letter referred to "the complexity of the project".
What we did
- General excavation and rock cutting for the car park70,400 m³
- Excavation for retaining walls and foundations1,227 m³
- General site excavation, HaOman–HaTnufa section4,436 m³
- Dismantling of existing walls2,000 m³; asphalt removal — 2,762 m²
- Sorting and screening of excavated material for reuse as fill8,940 m³
- Imported selected fill2,763 m³; type-A sub-base — 1,169 m³
- Supply and haulage of selected fill and sub-base for the Railway 431 project, section 4.224,080 t
What sets it apart
On one site we combined excavation, rock cutting, fill, demolition, recycling and crushing. That is also how the CEO of Shikun & Binui – Solel Boneh described the work in a 2023 letter. Approx. 8,900 m³ of the excavated material was sorted and screened for reuse as fill. Beyond the site itself, under the same contract we supplied and hauled approx. 24,000 tonnes of selected fill and sub-base for the Railway 431 project.
The works are being carried out in response to the complexity of the project, at the required standard of execution and to our complete satisfaction.
