The challenge
The existing surfaces at the main entrance of Beit HaLohem in Tel Aviv had to be replaced. Before casting, we removed approx. 1,800 m² of reinforced concrete slabs and 1,145 m² of interlocking paving blocks. We cast the granolite in situ in two phases, with aluminium and brass joint strips. We also laid cable trenches and installed new lighting columns.
What we did
- Removal of reinforced concrete slab and carriageway1,820 m²
- Removal of interlocking paving blocks1,145 m²
- Granolite surfaces cast in situ: Phase 12,250 m², Phase 2 — 715 m²; total 2,965 m²
- Aluminium and brass joint strips in the granolite400 m
- Cable trenches, 80×120 cm section400 m
- 18 steel lighting columns, 4 m high, including foundations
- 19 LED street lights
What sets it apart
We cast the granolite on site rather than laying it as tiles: 2,250 m² in Phase 1 and 715 m² in Phase 2, with 400 m of aluminium and brass joint strips. Beit HaLohem Tel Aviv is our first project for the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization. Beit HaLohem Haifa is also complete, and Beit HaLohem Jerusalem is in progress.
