The challenge
At Gatti Malha the new excavation meets what is already in the ground. The bill of quantities includes testing 135 existing anchors, removing 285 existing anchors, and demolishing 630 m³ of concrete elements, including piles. Only then can the pit be taken deeper and shored. We carry out the excavation, the shoring and the demolition under the same contract.
What we are doing
The project is in progress. The figures below are the planned scope from the bill of quantities updated after the contract award, in June 2025, not executed quantities:
- Excavation, rock cutting and removal of surplus55,000 m³
- General strippingapprox. 11,500 m²
- Micropiles for shoring, 45 cm diameter1,560 m
- Rock bolts, 9 and 10 m long1,070 units
- B30 concrete panel walls, 15 cm thick720 m³
- Testing of 135 existing anchors and removal of 285
- Demolition of concrete elements, including piles630 m³
What sets it apart
Three shoring and support methods in one bill of quantities: 45 cm micropiles, 9–10 m rock bolts and concrete panel walls. When the work is complete, we will replace the planned scope with the quantities from the final account.
